What this service is
PostpartumTherapy.com is a directory. We help families find licensed therapists who specialize in postpartum and perinatal mental health, and we relay initial inquiries to those therapists. By using the site you agree to these terms.
We are not a healthcare provider, and nothing on this site is medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. A listing is not a referral, endorsement, or guarantee of quality or outcomes. Contacting a therapist through this site does not create a therapist–client relationship — that happens between you and the clinician, on their terms, after you connect.
Not for emergencies
This site is not a crisis service and is not monitored for urgent messages. If you are in crisis or having thoughts of harming yourself or your baby, call or text 988, text HOME to 741741, call the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline at 1-833-852-6262, or go to your nearest emergency room.
What “verified” means — and what it doesn’t
Before a listing goes live, we manually check the clinician’s stated license against the issuing state board, and we automatically unpublish listings whose license expiration date has passed. Verification confirms licensure at the time of review; it is not a guarantee of a clinician’s current standing, competence, or fit for your needs. You should independently confirm anything that matters to your care, and you can look up any license directly with the state board. If you believe a listing is inaccurate, email hello@postpartumtherapy.com.
How listings are ordered
Clinicians on paid plans (Featured and Platinum) appear higher in search results than free Basic listings, and their placement is always labeled with a badge. Paid placement never affects verification — every listing, paid or free, passes the same license check. This is how the directory stays free for families.
For clinicians
- You must hold an active license to practice in the state(s) you list, keep your listing accurate, and tell us if your license status changes.
- Paid plans begin at the price and billing interval shown at checkout and renew at that interval. No trial is offered unless explicitly shown at checkout. You can cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We may remove any listing that violates these terms, with a refund of any prepaid unused period.
- Sponsored articles must be your own work, medically responsible, and are always labeled as sponsored. We may decline or edit content that doesn’t meet our editorial standards.
- Client inquiries are confidential. Using inquiry data for anything other than responding to the client is prohibited.
Acceptable use
Don’t misrepresent your identity or credentials, scrape or bulk-harvest listings, send spam through the messaging system, attempt to access other users’ data, or use the site for anything unlawful. We may suspend access for violations.
Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for the acts or omissions of listed clinicians, for decisions you make based on directory content, or for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the site. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
General
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. If we make material changes, we’ll update the effective date above and notify registered clinicians by email. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Questions: hello@postpartumtherapy.com.
