Our promises, up front

  • We never sell your personal information. To anyone. Ever.
  • We do not use advertising trackers, ad pixels, or social media tracking tags anywhere on this site.
  • Messages you send to a therapist are shared only with that therapist through our infrastructure providers, and are never used for marketing or sold.
  • Clinician license documents are stored privately and viewed only by our verification staff.

Who we are

PostpartumTherapy.com (“we,” “us”) operates a directory that helps families find licensed therapists who specialize in postpartum and perinatal mental health. We are not a healthcare provider and we do not provide therapy; therapists listed here are independent professionals. For privacy questions, contact privacy@postpartumtherapy.com.

What we collect from visitors

You can browse the entire directory, blog, and resources without creating an account. Search filters are sent to our servers and appear in the page URL so searches can be shared. Hosting providers may record request URLs in operational logs; avoid putting private clinical details into search fields.

If you contact a therapist through the site, we collect the name, email address, and message you provide, solely to deliver that message to the therapist’s private dashboard and notify them. We understand these messages may describe your health and feelings; we treat them as sensitive data, and we do not read, analyze, or use them for any other purpose.

What we collect from clinicians

Clinicians provide account details (name, email, password), listing information (which is published publicly on their profile), and license documentation used solely for credential verification. License documents are stored in a private, access-restricted bucket and are never shown publicly or shared with clients. Payment details for paid plans are handled by our payment processor; card numbers never touch our servers.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies: session cookies that keep clinicians signed in to their dashboard, plus security technology for inquiry forms. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies. If we ever adopt analytics, it will be a cookieless, privacy-preserving service, and we will update this policy first.

Who processes data on our behalf

We use a small number of infrastructure providers to run the service: Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage), Vercel (website hosting), Stripe (checkout and billing), Cloudflare Turnstile (abuse prevention), and Resend (to deliver notifications such as “you have a new inquiry”). We also send ZIP codes, without names or inquiry contents, to Zippopotam.us to calculate approximate search distances. These providers process the information needed for their services.

Retention and deletion

Messages remain in the recipient clinician’s inbox until they or we delete them. Clinician accounts and listings persist until the clinician removes them or asks us to. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by emailing privacy@postpartumtherapy.com. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know and the right to delete — and because we don’t sell or share personal information for advertising, there is nothing to opt out of.

What this site is not

We are not a covered entity under HIPAA, and messages sent through the site are not medical records — though we protect them as if they mattered that much, because they do. Once you begin working with a therapist directly, your communications with them are governed by their own confidentiality obligations, which are generally much stronger than any website’s.

Children

This service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes to how we handle messages or clinician data will be announced to affected users by email.

This site is not a crisis service. If you are in crisis, call or text 988, or see our resources page for immediate support options.
