Before a listing goes live

Every clinician who applies provides their license type, number, issuing state, and expiration date, plus a copy of their license certificate or board verification document. Our team then checks the license directly against the issuing state board’s public registry — confirming the license is real, active, matches the clinician’s name, and permits independent clinical practice.

No listing appears in the directory until this review is complete. It typically takes one to two business days.

After a listing is live

  • We track every license’s expiration date. Listings whose licenses lapse are unpublished automatically, the same day — not at some future re-review.
  • Clinicians are required by our terms to keep their information accurate and to notify us of any change in license status.
  • Reported concerns are investigated, and listings can be removed at any time.

What verification doesn’t mean

Verification confirms licensure — it is not a guarantee of a clinician’s competence, current standing, or fit for your needs, and a listing is not a referral or endorsement. We encourage you to confirm anything that matters to your care directly: every state licensing board offers a free public license lookup, and every profile here displays the license number you’d need to do it.

Paid placement never affects verification

Clinicians on paid plans appear higher in search results — always labeled with a Featured or Platinum badge. The verification process is identical for every listing, free or paid. There is no way to buy a “verified” badge without passing the same license check.

Spotted a problem?

If you believe any listing is inaccurate, misrepresents credentials, or shouldn’t be here, email hello@postpartumtherapy.com — reports are reviewed promptly and we’d rather remove a listing than leave a doubt.

Clinicians: the “Verified Clinician” badge on your profile can also be embedded on your own website — you’ll find the embed code in your dashboard once your listing is approved.
