The problem we’re working on
Roughly 1 in 8 mothers experiences postpartum depression, and postpartum anxiety affects at least as many — yet an estimated half never receive treatment. It isn’t because help doesn’t exist. It’s because finding it, in the most exhausted season of your life, is genuinely hard: general therapist directories bury the perinatal specialists among thousands of generalists, and a sleep-deprived parent doesn’t have the bandwidth to vet credentials at 3am.
PostpartumTherapy.com does one thing: it lists licensed therapists who specialize in postpartum and perinatal mental health — only them — and verifies every license before a profile goes live.
What makes a listing here different
- Every clinician holds an active state license, checked manually against the issuing board before listing — here’s exactly how
- Every clinician specializes in perinatal mental health — many hold PSI’s PMH-C certification, which we display on profiles
- Listings whose licenses lapse are automatically unpublished
- Searching and contacting therapists is free for families, always
How we make money — transparently
Clinicians can list for free, forever. Some choose paid plans (Featured, $49/mo, or Platinum, $129/mo) that place their listing higher in results — always labeled with a badge — and let them publish sponsored articles, which are always disclosed. Paid placement never affects verification: every listing passes the same license check. We don’t run ads, we don’t use ad trackers, and we never sell data — commitments we’ve put in writing in our privacy policy.
When we’re not the right fit
Where we aren’t the right resource, we’ll happily point you to the people who are — starting with Postpartum Support International and the other organizations we trust.
